It was supposed to be an ordinary evening of ministration — Edi had been invited simply to speak, to bring a word to the room. She walked in thinking only of what she’d been asked to share. She had no idea a proposal was coming. She didn’t even suspect it.
Then she saw them: friends and family, gathered quietly, watching her walk in. And before she could make sense of it, her groom-to-be, James, was down on one knee — and the question was asked.
